Flu & COVID-19 Vaccination Eligibility
Every winter the NHS offers free flu and COVID-19 vaccinations to those most at risk. Check the eligibility criteria below to see if you qualify, then book at your local Medishare pharmacy in minutes.
Flu vaccination
Who can have it, and from when
From 1 September 2026
- Pregnant women
- All children aged 2 or 3 on 31 August 2026
- All primary and secondary school aged children
- Children in a clinical risk group aged from 6 months to under 18
From 1 October 2026
- Everyone aged 65 and over
- Adults aged 18 to 65 in a clinical risk group
- People in long stay residential care
- Carers on carer's allowance, or the main carer of an elderly or disabled person
- Close contacts of people with a weakened immune system
- People experiencing homelessness
- Frontline health and social care workers
COVID-19 vaccination
Who can have it, and from when
From 1 October 2026
- Everyone aged 75 and over
- Residents in care homes for older adults
- Anyone aged 6 months and over with a weakened immune system
Having both together. If you are eligible for your flu and COVID-19 vaccinations at the same time, it is safe to have them together, and often more convenient to get both done in a single visit. Our pharmacy team will talk you through it when you come in.
